Your church is made up of men and women who spend the majority of their week in the workplace. They are presidents, CEOs, and company owners. As Christians, they face many challenges in today’s culture and they need your encouragement. Not only do they provide financial support for your local ministry, but they also serve as an extension of your church as they work and lead in the community at-large. You have a unique opportunity to help them be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who might not otherwise set foot in a church. Many business leaders are unsure of how to connect their faith to their work. They have a sense of how their faith impacts their parenting and marriage and giving … but lose sight of how their faith intersects with their role as a business leader.
WHAT'S OUR ROLE AS A CHURCH?
While this is a national event, we want to provide you with the tools to experience it through your local church. We hope to create an opportunity for you to minister to the Christian leaders within your congregation. Your role is to invite the business leaders of your church and create an atmosphere of encouragement and validation. During the event itself, the opening devotional and lunch are available times for you to invite local leaders to speak, whether they be your local pastor or other men and women involved in the workplace of your community.
HOW MANY PEOPLE SHOULD I EXPECT TO ATTEND?
We are designing this experience for churches of all sizes. Whether you have 10 attendees or 1,000, we believe “success” to be less about size and more about how God uses the event to inspire local leaders to lead with their faith in mind.
WHAT DOES IT COST?
There’s no host license fee for the first 100 churches. Attendee registration will be $25. A small portion ($3–$5) of the $25 fee will go to RightNow Media @ Work to cover credit card fees and program costs. The remainder goes directly to the host site. We know that when people pay to attend something they are more likely to show up. So we are setting registration at a low price so you will know who plans to attend and to help you offset any hosting expenses by using the proceeds for your church.
DO I NEED ANY SPECIAL EQUIPMENT?
No. You will need a strong internet connection and a screen to display the video. Our team will work with you to answer technical questions.
WHAT WILL THE TEACHING BE ABOUT?
Every speaker and real-life story will focus on what it means for Christians in the workplace to see their work as an act of worship. Some sessions will offer inspirational stories of leaders who have experience combining their faith with their work. Other sessions will deliver application for practically living out faith at work.
DO I HAVE TO BE A PASTOR TO SIGN UP MY CHURCH?
We are looking for people to champion the retreat at their church. Ultimately, you will need a pastor to approve the use of the church building, but anyone can sign up their church from business leaders to staff members.
WHERE WILL THE LIVE RETREAT BE HOSTED?
The live Retreat will be held at Preston Trail Community Church in Frisco, Texas. Tickets will go on sale later this fall.
